You may want to know who Kenny is...
Kenny Graham is first and foremost a musician and music lover. He started playing in bands in his early teens, now in his forties, he has played with many Scottish bands, this allowed him to see a bit of the world through extensive touring. In the early nineties he decided to settle more in Scotland and began working with Sound Control Music Stores. He managed several of their stores with a career spanning over 20 years. In 2008 Kenny and his wife “Dundee born Marie” opened the Dundee Branch of Kenny's Music, then due to popular demand they opened the Dunfermline store. Kenny's Music is staffed by people Kenny had worked with for many years in the music industry and most of the staff are playing musicians.

Kenny's Music Dundee is located at 29-31 Castle street, smack-bang in the centre of the city, just off City Square by the side of the Caird Hall. The store sits on the site of the original 13th century Dundee Castle. Indeed, remains of this historic structure can still be seen in our basement. It was here, according to "Blind Harry the Minstrel" (c.1440-92), that William Wallace allegedly stabbed and killed the son of Governor Selbie. spooky..! More recently some other Minstrels, known collectively as The Beatles, used the building as means of escape when hordes of screaming fans surrounded the Caird Hall during their performance there back in 1964. Latterly the building was home to Stephens, the ironmongers, before establishing itself as a music shop when Sound Control opened in 1987, quickly becoming the hub of the music business throughout the north east of Scotland, right up until their untimely demise in 2008.
Encouraged by his Dundee-born wife, Marie and in the words of fellow Dundonians The Average White Band, Kenny Graham managed to "pick up the pieces" and in June of that year opened a brand-new business with a refreshingly unpretentious name. Three Separate floors are jam-packed with goodies for discerning musicians, of all styles and abilities. The ground floor is pure Rock' n' Roll . Crammed full of electric guitars, basses and associated amplification, names like Gibson and Epiphone, PRS and ESP, Fender, Schecter and many more abound at every turn. A comprehensive selection of strings and accessories as well as an amazing array of effects pedals, including Boss and MXR, create a veritable Aladdins cave. As this wasn't enough there is a selection of P.A. gear from brands such as RCF, JBL and Mackie.
The only slightly more restrained first floor is home to a dazzling display of acoustic guitars, pianos and hi-tech equipment. Featuring the only Korg Pro-Centre in north east Scotland we are also making space for the imminent arrival and installation of one of the highly acclaimed "Planet-X" dispaly areas, dedicated to highlighting the world of Roland products. Kenny's also stocks the full range of Casio Digital Pianos as well as a selection of keyboards for budget conscious beginners.
On the second floor we have entered into partnership with nationally established company - Music in Print. This brings you the best comprehensive selection of printed sheet music, including both instructional and tutorial DVDs and books as well as smattering of entry-level violins and other orchestral instruments. This floor is also home to a team of in-house tutors for that personal touch.
Buying from Kenny's Music, you can rest assured you will have full back-up from our basement-based service department. With over forty years of experience EMR Services offer an on-site repair facility for keyboards and amplifiers of all types. Also here, our in-house luthier can be found, servicing, customising and re-finishing all types of fretted instruments. See www.rvguitars.co.uk for full details.

Kenny believes that whilst we are retailers, ultimately everyone at Kenny's Music loves music and making music. This is the most important part of our business and this is what I hope our customers see when they visit our stores. We are very proud of what we've achieved in what is a relatively short time, but Kenny's Music is a young exciting company which puts our customers first, every time.
