The NEW Generation of better, faster, easier USB Audio Interface from Focusrite.
The second generation Scarlett range from Focusrite is here, and it's packed full of upgrades. It's still the same fantastic, best-selling range of audio interfaces, but with a few key new features that make these already essential pieces of hardware, even more so for anyone considering a new interface. So while the Scarlett you know and love is still in the box, what's changed?
The whole Scarlett range now operates at sample rates of all the way up to 192kHz. This is double the previous recording quality, to ensure your recordings are crystal clear, just the way you played them.
Low latency* will bring confidence to any performance, letting you record and monitor with software effects in real time.
*Super-low roundtrip latency measured at 2.74ms, working at 96kHz with a 32 samples buffer on Logic Pro X, running on a Mac Pro and OS 10.11.
The latest Scarlett mic preamp features a more even gain structure, so you can accurately set your levels. This allows to compensate for instruments that have a lower level output, guaranteeing a "hot signal" no matter what the output of your instrument.
The instrument input has also been completely redesigned so it can handle seriously hot guitar pick-ups. This is particularly useful if you have a guitar or bass with active pickups.
Focusrite have provided analogue protection circuitry across both the inputs and the outputs, to guard your interface against unwanted power surges.
New metal gain controls and a sleeker red metal chassis underscore its improved industrial design, built to go anywhere.
The Scarlett interface has always been simplistic in it’s workflow, however Focusrite have improved this even further: Focusrite Control allows you to have full control over routing inputs and outputs, and also gives remote control over unit functionality. There's also Input and output protection (this protects you against phantom power shorting) for protection against accidental application of phantom power to outputs. There's also power optimisation for laptops that don’t supply enough bus power to the small Scarlett units, and ensures USB ports will not become overloaded.
Scarlett Solo Studio and Scarlett 2i2 Studio packs now have redesigned Headphones and Microphones, creating a new, slicker look to match your new interface.
Aside from being a great interface, the Scarlett range also comes bundled with everything you need to get recording straight out of the box.
