Epiphone are an American guitar manufacturer owned by Gibson Guitars, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, with Epiphone able to trace their routes back to 1873 in The Ottoman Empire (modern day Turkey), and the manufacturing of fiddles and lutes.
Modern day Epiphone are mostly known for their affordable Gibson models, spanning from the SL and Studio guitar lines, right through to the higher end Prophecy and Inspired by Gibson models.
These span the whole span of Gibson models, whether that be the Les Paul and SG; Flying V’s, Explorers and Firebirds or even the hollowbody ES-335 and ES-339. The Epiphone also includes some Epiphone original guitar, such as the Sheraton, Casino and Riviera model.
Epiphone are also well known for their affordable but incredibly popular acoustic guitar line. This once again features Epiphone original models such as the Texan and Songmaker, but also includes models based on Gibson models such as the J-200, Hummingbird and J-45.
