Hohner Musikinstrumente GmbH & Co. or Hohner, as they are better known, are a German musical instrument manufacturer with origins dating back to 1857. They were originally founded when Matthias Hohner, who was a clockmaker by trade, started making harmonicas.
In their 160+ years of musical instrument manufacturing, Hohner have been involved in making most varieties of musical instruments, ranging from flutes and recorders through to electric guitars and even keyboards. Nowadays, Hohner have refined their range, and currently produce harmonicas, melodicas, accordions, and recorders. Hohner are a widely respected manufacturer and over the years have produced artist models for Stevie Wonder, Steve Tyler (Aerosmith) and Bob Dylan. Other notable players include Prince, John Lennon (The Beatles) and Bruce Springsteen.
