When “Charvel’s Guitar Repair” was bought over by Grover Jackson in 1978, and started manufacturing guitars in 1980, Jackson Guitars was born. Jackson are best known for making guitars geared toward heavier styles of music.
With models such as the Randy Rhoads, Monarkh, Dinky and Warrior, it’s not difficult to see why the aesthetic and sound of Jackson Guitars might appeal to metal musicians. With many Jackson guitars featuring classic “metal” components such as lock nuts or tuner, Floyd Rose style bridges and high gain humbucking pickups, it’s clear that Jackson have very much leant into this.
