What's the difference between Valve and Solid State Amps?

Valve or Tube amps use vacuum tubes to derive amplification where solid state uses electronic transistors. Valve amps generally cost more money as they are a more complex build and require more maintenance than their solid state brethren. Tubes usually give you a smoother response than solid state does but, don't count out the solid state yet. Solid state amps have been around since the 60's and have improved greatly over the years. Solid state amps are generally cheaper and much lower maintenance and therefore are more reliable when performing. Ultimately it comes down to personal preferences. Both types of amps are used regularly by professional musicians alike.

What is amp modelling?

Amp modelling is basically where one amp recreates the sound of another. As some amps can be quite expensive, amp modelling is a less expensive option to get a similar sound. Amp modelling is a growing technology but, has not yet perfected exact emulation.

When will I receive my order?

You will be given an estimated delivery date based on your location and selected shipping option during the checkout process. If you need your item delivered on a specific day, you can leave a comment in the box at the checkout and we'll take it from there. Please note items shipping from our Aberdeen store may occasionally require a 2 day shipping service.

Can I ship my item to an alternative address?

We know that sometimes making sure you're in for a delivery can be a pain, so you can specify a different shipping address at the checkout (just make sure your billing address matches your payment card!).

Is my item in stock?

Our website clearly states the stock availability status of all items listed, and this status is dynamically updated throughout the day, meaning that as soon as something is sold in store or online the availability status is updated accordingly. This means you can buy with confidence knowing that your purchase is yours.

Can I return my order if I change my mind?
