It might be difficult to believe, given their reputation for producing guitars geared towards heavier music, but Schecter Guitar Research was originally a repair shop which specialised in repairs and modifications for the established American brands of the 1970s. Their first guitars were custom shop models styled after these guitars, and were sought after as high quality instruments.

Though the company has moved on, quality is still very much at the heart of their business, whether you're buying an entry level Omen, Demon or Reaper or one of their high end C-1, Synyster Gates or PT guitars.
