Originally released by Martin guitars as an affordable line, the Sigma brand was discontinued in 2007 by Martin and taken over by German manufacturers AMI Musical Instruments. They have continued to produce guitars which strike an excellent balance between affordability and quality.
Despite no longer being part of Martin guitars, many of their shapes such as the DM Dreadnought style guitar or their 000 shaped guitar are still reminiscent of some of the better known Martin models. They also now produced guitars based on other manufacturer's popular models, such as the GJA-SG200 and the JM-SG45, based on the Gibson J200 and J45 respectively.
Sigma's current range is vast, offering guitars of every style and to suit any budget, and they are well worth considering if you want a quality instrument at an affordable price.
