Squier originally made a name for themselves as a violin maker toward the end of the 19th century. Now owned by Fender, Squier are best known for producing affordable copies of Fender’s famous guitar designs.
After being bought over by Fender, the Squier brand was retired and then eventually repurposed to allow Fender to produce more affordable, non-USA-made versions of the Stratocaster and Telecaster under a different name.
Far from being just “affordable copies”, Squier are now a well respected brand in their own right. From the Bullet and Affinity ranges, right through to the higher end Classic Vibe and Contemporary series, Squier can provide you with a Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Mustang, Jazz Bass or P-Bass to suit your sound, style and budget!
