Yamaha reface CP Compact Electric Piano

Vintage Keyboard Sound Engine with six incredibly detailed vintage keyboard types. Each keyboard type matches a carefully chosen Drive and Tremolo setting to provide an incredibly musical pairing.

The six keyboard types are

• RdI, early '70s tine electric piano
• RdII, late '70s tine electric piano
• Wr, late '60s reed electric piano
• Clv, 70s struck string Clavinet
• Toy, toy piano
• CP, Yamaha CP80 electric grand piano

The Yamaha reface CP also features five stomp box-style effects with direct control. The effect types are:

• Drive (adds harmonics and distortion)
• Tremolo (Auto-Pan for Rd) or VCM Wah with adjustable depth and rate
• Chorus with adjustable depth and speed
• VCM Phaser with adjustable depth and speed
• Digital or Analog-Type Delay with adjustable time and depth
• Reverb with adjustable depth

128-note polyphony ensures dropout-free performance.

Creativity - Just Add Batteries

Taking its leave from the unique Stage Keyboards that were around in the 1970s, the Yamaha reface CP Electric Piano brings the same vintage sounds and incredible playability and polyphony, with no scrimping along the way. The beauty of this modern model is in its lightweight and compact size; making it the perfect travel companion or studio extra.

Capable of being used as a studio unit, live, or simply while you’re on the go. The reface CP can be hooked up to a mains power supply with an AC adapter or powered for up to 5 hours with six (readily-available) AA batteries.

Classic Sounds, Modern Twist

The Yamaha reface CP Electric Piano is capable of producing the fantastic sounds of its ‘60s and‘70s predecessors thanks to its engine, which comprised of SCM (Spectral Component Modeling) and AWM2 sound generation, and offers 128-note polyphony.

The unit offers six classic keyboard sounds: RdI (early '70s tine electric piano), RdII (late '70s tine electric piano), Wr (late '60s reed electric piano), Clv (70s struck string Clavinet), Toy (toy piano), and the CP (Yamaha CP80 electric grand piano).

To ensure the authenticity of these models they have been joined by a selection of vintage effects to compliment them, all of which are easily-accessible from the unit’s control panel. These are: Drive, Tremolo/VCM Wah, Chorus/VCM Phaser, Digital Delay/Analog-Type Delay, and Reverb.

To give a better playing feel, the HQ Mini Keys used in the construction of the Yamaha reface CP Electric Piano utilise an action based on the FS action of the flagship Yamaha Motif XF. These keys give a professional feel and response that ensures your playing is natural. You can also use the sustain function of each piano sound by hooking up sustain pedal, via the relevant input.

Connect With Soundmondo

Going beyond its dimensions, the Yamaha reface CP Electric Piano makes it easy to share your music-making with others around the world. With Yamaha’s online community, Soundmondo, and direct synchronisation with the unit, you can connect with other reface CP users and collaborate, share your sounds, and access others’ sounds. If you don’t feel like sharing, you can use this service to privately store your voices and set lists.

iPhone/iPad Reface App

The Yamaha reface CP Electric Piano goes beyond even this, with connectivity to your iPhone/iPad, and Yamaha’s free reface iOS app, giving you even more functionality. This major benefit allows you to easily store your library of voices and playlists on your iOS device, ready to transfer them over to the reface CP at any time. You can assign a name, picture, and numerous tags to each voice or playlist, which helps when using the app’s search function or navigating through them.

The app also allows you to share and store your sounds in a unique way, as the app can turn any voice into a QR code, which, when scanned with a device’s camera, loads the sound onto the app of that device.
